Davis Cup is coming to Portland and Portland Tennis & Education celebrated with the U.S. Davis Cup Team and USTA Pacific Northwest on Monday, July 11th, at the US Davis Cup Team Family Fun Fair! Eighty people from our Portland Tennis & Education family spent the evening at Tualatin Hills Tennis Center for fun on and off-court activities for all ages. They had the opportunity to play with the top-ranked American and world No. 17 John Isner, world No. 26 Jack Sock, 16-time Grand Slam doubles champions Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan, and legendary coach and former No. 1 Jim Courier!
After on-court activities, the Portland Tennis & Education Scholar Athletes, Coach/Tutors, and families worked together to create a mural using tennis balls covered in paint. Our family welcomed the US Davis Cup Team members to the mural area with a high-five pathway. Soon after, John Isner, Jack Sock, and Bob and Mike Bryan joined PT&E in creating the mural by adding their own flare. The players autographed the mural and took a photo with Portland Tennis & Education.
Thanks to the USTA Pacific Northwest for inviting us to sponsor a court, create a mural, and for holding this amazing event at Tualatin Hills Tennis Center to kick off an exciting week of activities!
