As the weekend comes to a close. We would like to acknowledge Miguel, Ariel, and Rosie for their incredible efforts competing in the State Championships.
Miguel made it to the second round and fought a great battle to the end.
Ariel and his doubles partner made it to the quarterfinals and also put up quite a fight.
As for Rosie, she made it to the final round of Girl’s Singles Consolation and won with a score of 6-2, 6-2!
Thank you to the encouraging words of our Facebook/PT&E family! Special thanks to: Coach Danice, Coach Fitz, Coach Eric, Coach Nora, Coach Lu, Símon Homedes, and Roosevelt Players: Ally & Jessica for taking the time out of their weekend to come support these athletes! We couldn’t have done it without any of you!
Last, but not least, thank you and congratulations to Coach Franklin and Coach Nina for a successful first year as Head Coaches for Roosevelt High School Tennis!
Another year, another first place ribbon! Our PT&E family received our third 1st Place ribbon at the St. Johns Parade yesterday, and as always, we had a blast dancing through the streets of St. Johns while greeting familiar faces all throughout the neighborhood!
Thank you to all community members who came out in support of the parade and our Scholar Athletes. We love our neighbors! ❤️ Scroll to the end for a little treat and watch out Scholar Athletes celebrate their win post-parade!
ARIEL IS GOING TO STATE!
Ariel has been attending PT&E since 2009 and is one of the original 14 members of the program in its current form. Today he and his doubles partner secured their spot in the OSAA 6A Boys Tennis Tournament taking place next week and will be joining Mikey and Rosey in the big leagues.
This sophomore will be representing the Metro League and Jesuit High School on May 17th-19th at the state tournament. We are extremely proud of him!
Good luck at state, Ariel!
Check out that ribbon, ROSIE IS HEADED TO STATE!!! After a magnificent performance at the PIL district tournament where she knocked off the number one seed and placed 2nd Rosie is headed to the state tennis tournament to represent the Roosevelt High School Rough Riders.
We are sooo proud of Rosie!!! She has spent her Junior year working hard to improve her game and her success on the court has gone hand in hand with improvements in the classroom. She has shown exceptional resiliency and a commitment to doing her best, academically and athletically. This is just the start for Rosie!
Go Rosie! Go Riders!

MIKEY IS GOING TO STATE!!! Mikey has been with PT&E since 2009 and is one of the original members of the program in its current form. We have watched as he has grown into an exceptional tennis player on the court and more importantly a compassionate and thoughtful young man off it. Advancing to the OSAA 6A Boys Tennis Tournament has long been one of his goals and on Wednesday he did just that!
The senior will be representing the PIL and the Roosevelt High School May 17th-19th at the state tournament. We are very proud of him! Good luck at state @mddl111_ !!! #hardwork #paysoff #osaa #goriders #gomikey #tennis
